As an internet network marketer, I’m sure you’ve heard all about attraction marketing at this point and how once you’ve started using it, you’ll never have to do “old school” MLM recruiting ever again and people will just be beating down your door to join your business and send you money.
I call shenanigans and hogwash.
When people first started talking about attraction marketing a few years ago, this was probably true. But, like every other tactic that’s ever been used online, after awhile, things don’t work as well as they used to.
The same goes for attraction marketing. if you really believe at this point that if you never pick up the phone and actually CALL your prospects that you’ll still be able to build a business using the Internet, you’re dreaming.
The chances that someone is going to join your business without first talking to you are slim to none. I’m not saying that it’s never going to happen, but I am saying that it’s not going to happen very much.
So, what do you do? You can still use the Internet to generate leads, but you’ve got to pick up the phone and actually call your prospects if you want them to take action.
Here’s 5 reasons why network marketers have to pick up the phone or get out of the business. I hope they help you focus and get moving in your business.
Reason #1 – Everyone can make a phone call
If you want to grow a big business, you’ve got to get your team to duplicate. Not everyone can blog, tweet, Facebook and all that other online jazz. But EVERYONE knows how to use a phone.
Reason #2 – You will build your confidence
If you can talk to people on the phone about your business, you’re one step closer to getting over your fears of talking to people in person about your business. Start dialing.
Reason #3 – You’re ready to do 3-way calls
Remember, if you’ve got a good team you’re not out there alone making calls. You should have some upline leadership ready to get on a call with you if your prospect has questions. Take advantage of that leverage. But you can only do that if you’re picking up the phone and dialing.
Reason #4 – You’ll move through more leads
Phone calls a great for sorting and sifting. You’ll know pretty much immediately if the person you’re talking to is worth your time or not.
Reason #5 – People want to get to know YOU
Remember, this is “network” marketing. You have to network with people if you want them to join your business.
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be using the Internet to build your business. What I’m saying is that you have to make contact with people if you want to recruit and build your business. Most people will NOT have the time nor the inclination to try and learn how to market on the Internet, they’d rather build their business offline and you need to be ready to help them.
