Overcoming Your Fear of the Phone


I’m willing to bet that I know what you’re most afraid of.  And I’m pretty sure it’s not spiders, shark attacks, the Boogeyman, heights, or even public speaking.  There’s a deep rooted fear that practically strangles everyone in business, not just network marketing.

And that’s the fear of that stinkin’ little technological wonder we call the PHONE.

The phone was a wonderful invention and has certainly changed the way that we communicate.  At this point, we’ve all had a phone for a very long time and most of us have multiple phones in our home if you’re counting landline and cell phones.overcome your fear of the phone

So, what’s the big deal?  Why is it so hard for so many people (including myself!) to just pick up the phone and call someone that may have some interest in our business?  Why does that hunk of plastic feel like it weighs 856 tons when we go to pick it up and make a call?

What’s the real reason that we all start to break out in a sweat, our heart starts racing and we start breathing like we’ve been running from the Wolfman for 3 hours if we decide that TODAY we’re actually going to make a phone call?

Everyone has a different reason.  Some of us aren’t confident presenting the business to people.  Some are afraid of rejection.  Some are afraid that they won’t know the right words to say.

And some of us are afraid that the person on the other end will actually say “Yes” and join the business.   Imagine that.

Now, I’m not sitting here telling you that I don’t have fears about picking up the phone.  That’s simply not the case.  I freak out every time I pick up the phone.

But here’s what I know: I know that every time I pick up the phone it gets easier.  I know that the more people that I talk to, the more likely I am to be successful in this business. The same is true for you.

You don’t have to be perfect on the phone when you’re getting started.  Trust me, you won’t be, so just get that in your brain right now.  Once you accept that, you’ll do much better.  You don’t have to be great, you just have to take action.

Taking action will do more to help you get over your phone fear than trying to figure out exactly the right words to say.  Pick up the phone and call that prospect and just ask them, “Would you be open to a side project that wouldn’t interfere with what you’re currently doing?”

If they say yes, great.  Send them some information or send them to an online presentation.  If they say no, that’s cool, too.  You’ve got more people to call and more money to make.

Get over your fear of the phone by using the phone.  Soon, you’ll be a phone-calling beast that recruits all the time.

5 Reasons Network Marketers Need to Pick Up The Phone – Or Get Out of the Business


As an internet network marketer, I’m sure you’ve heard all about attraction marketing at this point and how once you’ve started using it, you’ll never have to do “old school” MLM recruiting ever again and people will just be beating down your door to join your business and send you money.

I call shenanigans and hogwash.

When people first started talking about attraction marketing a few years ago, this was probably true. But, like every other tactic that’s ever been used online, after awhile, things don’t work as well as they used to.pick up the phone

The same goes for attraction marketing. if you really believe at this point that if you never pick up the phone and actually CALL your prospects that you’ll still be able to build a business using the Internet, you’re dreaming.

The chances that someone is going to join your business without first talking to you are slim to none. I’m not saying that it’s never going to happen, but I am saying that it’s not going to happen very much.

So, what do you do? You can still use the Internet to generate leads, but you’ve got to pick up the phone and actually call your prospects if you want them to take action.

Here’s 5 reasons why network marketers have to pick up the phone or get out of the business. I hope they help you focus and get moving in your business.

Reason #1 – Everyone can make a phone call

If you want to grow a big business, you’ve got to get your team to duplicate. Not everyone can blog, tweet, Facebook and all that other online jazz. But EVERYONE knows how to use a phone.

Reason #2 – You will build your confidence

If you can talk to people on the phone about your business, you’re one step closer to getting over your fears of talking to people in person about your business. Start dialing.

Reason #3 – You’re ready to do 3-way calls

Remember, if you’ve got a good team you’re not out there alone making calls. You should have some upline leadership ready to get on a call with you if your prospect has questions. Take advantage of that leverage. But you can only do that if you’re picking up the phone and dialing.

Reason #4 – You’ll move through more leads

Phone calls a great for sorting and sifting. You’ll know pretty much immediately if the person you’re talking to is worth your time or not.

Reason #5 – People want to get to know YOU

Remember, this is “network” marketing. You have to network with people if you want them to join your business.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be using the Internet to build your business. What I’m saying is that you have to make contact with people if you want to recruit and build your business. Most people will NOT have the time nor the inclination to try and learn how to market on the Internet, they’d rather build their business offline and you need to be ready to help them.

What Are You Going to Buy With Your Income Tax Refund?


It’s that time of year again. Most of America is settling in with their tax information from last year and either sitting down at home or paying someone else to get their taxes done. And for a lot of us, we’re going to get some money back. And every year, people plan on what they’re going to spend their tax refund check on.

For the most part, people use that refund check to buy something for themselves. Whether they take a nice vacation, buy some new clothes, get something for their spouse or children, or just splurge on something for themselves, most people spend their tax refund on “things”.income tax refund

Let me give you some advice for this year, don’t spend your tax refund on “things”. Spend your refund on something that will actually make money for you, not just add to all the junk you already have sitting around your house.

Now, you could go out and buy some assets with your refund, but the truth is that most assets are going to require a lot more than what you’re getting back in your refund to purchase. I’ve got a better idea that will help you make some changes in your life and will get you in a position in a very short period of time to buy a lot of assets and build up some residual income.

Take that tax refund this year and start your own business.

I know what you’re saying, “Start my own business! Are you nuts?”

Well, I maybe nuts, but not about this. Yes, you really can go out and start your own business, and reap all the benefits, with the amount that you’re getting back from your tax refund. With the average refund at around $2,500, you can start your own business AND have some cash left over.

What I’m talking about is starting a work from home network marketing business. I’m sure by now you’ve heard of network marketing or have known someone involved in the industry. Network marketing gives you all the benefits of owning your own business without the huge startup cost involved in more traditional brick-and-mortar businesses.

With most network marketing companies, you can get started for as little as $500, so what are you waiting for? Don’t blow that tax refund check this year on some silly trinket that will only make you happy for a few days. Get involved in a network marketing company and start building a residual income for yourself and your family.

Even if you only work your network marketing business part-time, you can create a nice secondary income that will bring you more freedom in your life.

3 Ways You Can Get More Leads for Your Network Marketing Business


If you really want to explode your network marketing business, you’ve got to have a steady stream of leads coming in that you can present your business to. Otherwise, you’re not going to have any growth and you’re not going to get a very big check.

You probably won’t get a check at all.

The problem that most people have is that they don’t know where to get more leads or they don’t have the budget to go out and buy leads from a company. So, you just have to contact them. Call them up and see if they’re open to making some extra income part-time. You’ll be surprised how may you get that say “yes”.

Lead Generation Tip #2 – Work Local Events

Yep, you’ve got to leave the house again for this one. Find some local networking events and start attending them. But don’t you dare pitch your business while you’re there. Talk to people and collect their business cards. Again, these are people that are wanting to be contacted. Don’t pitch your business at the event, contact the people you talk to the next day. Again, you’ll be surprised at the results.

Lead Generation Tip #3 – Contact Realtors

Realtors are great. You see their signs all over town. And their phone number is right there on the sign. Give them a call and see if they’re open to creating an income that has nothing to do with real estate. With most real estate markets in the shape they’re in right now, you’ll get a lot of yes answers.

How To Recruit People Every Day in Your Network Marketing Business


If you’re really going to make it big in network marketing, you’re going to have to recruit people into your business. And I’m not talking about recruiting just one or two people every 6 months.

If you want to become a full-time network marketer, you need to be recruiting all the time. All. The. Time. Not just when you feel like it, but all the time.

You should be taking advantage of every opportunity that presents itself and you have a chance to present your business to someone. If you’re not taking advantage of that every time, you’re not going to recruit as much.recruit more people into network marketing

If you don’t recruit, your business will never grow the way you want it to. Contrary to what you may have heard, your job in this business is not to be a head-hunter looking for the one or two super recruits that will go out and get 500 people into your business..

You’ve got to be the one that is going out and getting 500 people into your business.

You have to make a decision if you want to grow your business. You have to decide that YOU are going to recruit people into your business, not anyone else. You have to be ready to create a full-time income for yourself regardless of what anyone else does in your business.

If you can get that mindset, you will be well on your way to creating amazing success in your business.

So, how to you recruit people every day into your network marketing business? Simple…

Step #1 – Decide. There is a decision that sits before you now. No one else is responsible for decision other than you and no one else can be blamed if you don’t have success. Not your upline, not your sponsor, not your friends, your family or the government. You have to DECIDE that you are going to recruit people every day. Commit that no matter what happens, no matter what is going on, YOU are going to recruit people into your business.

Plain and simple, that’s step #1

Step #2 – Get out and do it. I wish that there was some other cool tip that I could give you at this point, but I’m trying to be very blunt and to the point with this article. I think some of you need that right now.

Even if you stink at recruiting right now, you have to do it. Even if you’ve never conducted a meeting before in your life, you have to start. Even if you’ve never presented your business to anyone before, it’s time to start.

Your success or failure in this business is totally, 100% dependent on your decision to recruit people and to commit to taking action EVERY DAY. If you’re not doing that, you wlll fail.

I know this article isn’t one of those pump you up and make you feel good about yourself articles, but it’s not supposed to be. This was written totally and completely to motivate you to get up off your behind and start recruiting people into your business.
