We’re all looking for good quality people to join our business and help get things moving to another level. You know the type of people I’m talking about.
You, and everyone else involved in a home based business opportunity, are looking for the self-motivated go-getters that won’t be calling you every day to get a jolt of encouragement and motivational pep talk.
These are the people that will call you only when they need help closing someone into the business, or to give you an update on some fantastic recruiting news, or just to chat and share in the awesomeness that you and your team are building.
Those are the kind of people we all want. Unfortunately, not everyone we recruit is going to be like that. In fact, most people aren’t. Not that people that you recruit can’t become like that, many can. But they’re not going to come to you as a true leader when they’re starting out.
That is, unless you go looking for them.
You can impact the results of your business pretty dramatically if you plan your prospecting the right way. If you want to recruit leaders into your business, and you should, you’ve got to go looking for leaders.
So, what type of people are you looking for? You’re looking for people that exhibit the same types of skills that you need to be a leader in network marketing, but that are involved in some other line of work right now.
You’re looking for people that aren’t afraid to pick up the phone, that don’t shy away from meeting and connecting with new people. You’re looking for someone that makes their own schedule and manages their time well. You’re looking for someone that is self-motivated and doesn’t have to have someone looking over their shoulder to make sure things are getting done.
You’re looking for the movers and shakers, people that are “getting it done” right now and have the potential to make a real impact in a network marketing business.
Here’s the problem: Most of us when we’re getting started in network marketing may NOT be one of these individuals. I wasn’t. I had to grow into it. But, I understand the importance of having someone like this in my business.
But I didn’t know how to talk to them and I was scared to death to even try. And I’m sure that many of you feel exactly the same way. You have many of the same fears that I did.
