Recruiting Leaders for Your Home Based Business Opportunity


We’re all looking for good quality people to join our business and help get things moving to another level.  You know the type of people I’m talking about.

You, and everyone else involved in a home based business opportunity, are looking for the self-motivated go-getters that won’t be calling you every day to get a jolt of encouragement and motivational pep talk.

These are the people that will call you only when they need help closing someone into the business, or to give you an update on some fantastic recruiting news, or just to chat and share in the awesomeness that you and your team are building.how to recruit leaders

Those are the kind of people we all want.  Unfortunately, not everyone we recruit is going to be like that.  In fact, most people aren’t.  Not that people that you recruit can’t become like that, many can.  But they’re not going to come to you as a true leader when they’re starting out.

That is, unless you go looking for them.

You can impact the results of your business pretty dramatically if you plan your prospecting the right way.  If you want to recruit leaders into your business, and you should, you’ve got to go looking for leaders.

So, what type of people are you looking for?  You’re looking for people that exhibit the same types of skills that you need to be a leader in network marketing, but that are involved in some other line of work right now.

You’re looking for people that aren’t afraid to pick up the phone, that don’t shy away from meeting and connecting with new people.  You’re looking for someone that makes their own schedule and manages their time well.  You’re looking for someone that is self-motivated and doesn’t have to have someone looking over their shoulder to make sure things are getting done.

You’re looking for the movers and shakers, people that are “getting it done” right now and have the potential to make a real impact in a network marketing business.

Here’s the problem:  Most of us when we’re getting started in network marketing may NOT be one of these individuals.  I wasn’t.  I had to grow into it.  But, I understand the importance of having someone like this in my business.

But I didn’t know how to talk to them and I was scared to death to even try.  And I’m sure that many of you feel exactly the same way.  You have many of the same fears that I did.

Increasing Your Downline – How to Recruit in MLM Businesses


If you haven’t figure it out yet, learning how to recruit in your MLM business is the key to your success. You can make money and build your business through retail sales of your products, but unless you are actively recruiting and growing your business, your momentum will disappear, and so will your check.

But, too many times new MLM business people are not getting the right kind of support and training from their upline team and maybe even their company.

In a lot of companies, new reps are told that you just have to find a few people yourself and then start helping them build their teams. Although you do want to help people build their teams, I’m of the opinion that you don’t need to do this starting out.increase your downline

When you first get started in your network marketing business, your one goal should be to recruit as many people as you possible can personally. If you’re going to become a full-time network marketer, you’ve got to produce the numbers yourself and not rely on the work of others at the beginning.

When you’re really focused on recruiting, you will get some good people into your business that will start growing their own teams without you having to do a lot of hand-holding to get them on their way.

The problem that a lot of network marketers have is that they believe that they have to go out and find those few “superstars” that will explode their business and simply ignore everyone else.

If you’re doing this, you’re asking for trouble and you’ll be getting some small checks for a long time.

Industry legend Mark Yarnell stated that you need to expose 30 people every day to your business if you want to create a six-figure income in your network marketing business.

If you’re searching for the “superstar”, you’re not going to be able to talk to 30 people a day, probably not even 30 people a month. The superstar marketers are few and far between, but you will find them if you are actively recruiting and building your downline.

So, what do you do to increase your downline? Simple. You recruit.

You don’t prejudge anyone, because you have no idea which people will be the superstars and which ones will join your business and then never recruit anyone. And sometimes the people that you think will be the absolute best will be the people that you never hear from again once they join up.

When you’re getting started in your network marketing business and looking to increase your downline, you just have to go out and recruit. Once you’ve been able to create a full-time income from your own work, then you can start helping other people build their business to a full-time income and watch your own checks grow exponentially.

How Many People Should You Talk To About Your Network Marketing Business Every Day?


While I was sitting at my desk today, this question just popped in my head and I thought I’d write a nice little article on the topic. I know that every person that has gotten into network marketing asks this question. If you didn’t when you joined the industry, something is probably wrong with you and you should seek the advice of a medical professional.

That is, after you’re done reading this!

Seriously, I know that this question has been in your head more times than you can probably remember. You’ve been sitting at home, reading over some notes or just thinking to yourself. Maybe you’re cutting the grass or doing the laundry. Maybe you’re out at the mall. Maybe you’re getting your haircut. how many people should you talk to about your network marketing business

Maybe you’re out at having a nice dinner, or even a not so nice dinner. Maybe you’re at church. Maybe you’re at an event. Maybe I’ve said “maybe” one time too many in this article so far!

The point is, as network marketers, we really want to know how many people we should talk to about our network marketing business, plain and simple. Somebody PLEASE just give us a number to work with!

Now, I’m the first to tell you I’m no “guru” and I haven’t made my millions yet in this industry, but I will. But, I’m not the one you should be listening to about how many people you should talk to on a daily basis about your network marketing business.

With that said, I’m going to refer to an industry veteran that has made more than his share of money and has a much more experience than I do right now, and that’s Mark Yarnell.

Mark Yarnell wrote a great little book titled “Your First Year in Network Marketing” and I recently listened to a fantastic training where Mr. Yarnell gave out the “secret” number of people that you need to talk to on a daily basis.

His answer: 30.

30 people a day, 5 days a week. Please take the weekends off. Or you can talk to 30 people those days, too. I don’t care.

Now, the reason Mr. Yarnell says 30 is that he says that is the best way to make a six-figure monthly income in this business. Talk to 30 people every day and you’re well on your way to being one of the big earners in network marketing.

There’s just one problem with that: most people will NEVER talk to 30 people a day about their network marketing business. EVER. Which is why there aren’t more people making incredible incomes.

The dedication just isn’t there. They don’t want to put forth the effort and they don’t want to put themselves out there for people to say “no.”

But you’re not one of those people, are you? I’m not. I’m not at 30 people a day yet, but I’m on my way. And I’ll be there soon.

Network Marketing Success – Mindset Wins The Game Every Time


There’s a reason that 97% of people that get into network marketing fail, and they fail big time. I’m not talking about that they get started, make some money, then something happens and they get out after a few years and try something else, having made some bank in the process.

No, I’m talking about the fact that they vast majority of people in the network marketing business never make a single dime the entire time that they are on an autoship with their company. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

And it has nothing to do with having meetings, passing out CDs, talking to warm market, cold calling, or anything else. It has to do with one overriding factor that so many people overlook and is so important to determining their success in this business, and I’m just as guilty as anyone about overlooking it.mindset wins the game

I’m talking about mindset. Specifically, I’m talking about having the mindset to win.

See, without really believing that you can and should be successful in your network marketing business, you won’t be. At least not for any length of time. You might have a short flash of greatness, but nothing that lasts.

You might recruit a few people and sell some product, but without the right winning mindset, you are destined to join the ranks of the defeated.

But, if you can have the right mindset, amazing things can happen. I’m going to share with you a short story about mindset, determination, and just flat out arrogance that allowed some people to accomplish something that they never should have been able to do.

As I’m writing this, Super Bowl XLV has just been played within the last 48 hours. Two iconic football teams, the Packers and the Steelers, faced off in an epic battle. But before the coin was ever flipped, before the National Anthem was sung, the game was already over.

The outcome had already been decided, and it had been decided by Green Bay’s head coach.

Here’s what happened on Saturday night: Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy had all of his players fitted for their championship rings late Saturday night.

Now, I’m going to pause for just a moment and let you go back and read that last statement one more time and let it sink in all the way. He had them fitted for their rings on Saturday night, 24 hours before they even played the game.

Call it what you will, arrogance, bravado, ignorance, complete nonsense, whatever. That one action put in the mind of every player on that Packer team that this game and championship was already theirs and all that they had to do was go out and take it.

When was the last time you did something like that in your network marketing business? When was the last time you did something completely arrogant to convince yourself that you are going to be successful in your business?

Have you taken a test drive in that dream car of yours? Did you go and get fitted for that suit that you know you can’t buy right now but you know will be in your closet?

I challenge you to get your mindset right before you take one more step in your network marketing business. Before you make another call, hand out another CD, or post one more entry to your blog, get your mind right.

You are more than worthy of having what you want in life. You deserve every dream and desire you’ve ever had. You are worth it, and you will have it. Get that in your head before you head out the door this morning.

And if you can’t grasp that right now, pound it into your head every day until you do. Don’t let you mindset be the thing that costs you all of your hopes and dreams.

Network Marketing Leaders – 5 Simple Steps to Join Their Ranks


I don’t think that I’m wrong about writing this, but I’m pretty sure that all of us in the network marketing business want to recognized as a network marketing leader. I mean, let’s just be honest. We really want all the attention and accolades that are handed out to those people in the industry that have “paved the way” and shown the rest of us how to get the job done.

I know I feel that way and if you don’t, then this article is probably not for you. Stop reading now and we’ll speak again soon.

For the rest of us, we’ll just move right on…

I’m sure you realize, at least I hope you do, that every network marketing leader started out in exactly the same position that you are right now. They came into the business with a lot of desire and a lot of dreams, but with absolutely no clue how to achieve their goals.network marketing leaders

They were just as afraid as you are right now of getting up in front of someone and making any kind of presentation. They were just as worried about being rejected by their friends and family as you are. They had all the same doubts and fears as you, yet somehow they were able to overcome all of that and succeed in spite of themselves.

The question, then, is this: How did they get to be network marketing leaders and how can you get there to?

Here’s a few things that I’ve noticed and I’m going to share with you. I’m working on these things right now and hope that you’ll take some time yourself to sit down and evaluate these things and see if you’re ready to make the commitment to take your business to the top.

Step to the Top #1 – Get Over Your Fear of Speaking

Listen, just accept it right now. You’re going to be talking to people in your business. Hopefully, you’re going to be talking to a LOT of people. Just get that in your head now and you’ll be a lot better off down the road. You’re going to have to talk to people, even if you’re marketing your business online. They won’t join without speaking to you, it just won’t happen. Learn to talk to people and speak with them.

Step to the Top #2 – Get Over Your Fear of Rejection

The vast majority of people that you will talk to about your business are going to tell you no. It’s just a fact and there’s nothing you can do to change it. Accept it, embrace it, and then move on. The quicker you realize this and deal with it, the better off you’ll be.

Step to the Top #3 – Get Over Your Fear of Success

I know that may sound silly, but there are a ton of people (and I’m one of them) that has a hard time thinking about and dealing with what will happen if we really do hit it big in network marketing. What are we going to do when people are looking up to us as leaders? How are we going to handle all that money? There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with being successful and a lot of us are just flat scared to death that we’re going to mess that up. Get over it, accept that you’re worthy of being successful, that you were made to be more than you are right now. Get ready to be better than you are and lead others to that same place.

Step to the Top #4 – Be More Disciplined Than You Ever Have Been Before

To be really successful in network marketing, you have to be disciplined. You have to take action in your business every day. Expose people to your business every day. Do a live, local presentation once a week. Make phone calls every day. Hand out business cards everywhere you go. Be disciplined in your actions and reap the results.

Step to the Top #5 – Don’t Give Up

Today might not have been a good day for you. As I’m writing this, it hasn’t been a good day for me. I’ve struggled today with my inner self on many fronts. There will be times when you really, truly believe that it will just be better to give up and go back to what you were doing before. And it will be easier to do that, but it most definitely will not be worth it. Don’t give up, don’t back down. Pour your heart and soul into your business. Drive for your dreams because no one else will. You’ve got to push, kick, and scream your way to the top.

There’s a long road ahead of you if you want to be a network marketing leader, but it’s a road that has been traveled by many before you. They blazed the trail that you can follow and achieve the same success that they have.  The road isn’t easy, but it’s a lot easier than the system that most other people are trying to use.  Get up off your butt, DECIDE that you’re going to be successful, and GO DO IT!
