Your goals are what will drive you forward in your life.  I love something that I heard Michael Beckwith say about when you create goals and a vision you are creating a vacuum in your life.  And if you know anything about a vacuum, you know that it pulls things into itself.

So when you’re creating goals and a vision of what you want your life to be like, you are creating a vacuum that is going to pull you along until you reach that goal and fulfill that vision.

That’s why you need to be specific when you’re creating your vision and goals.  Don’t just say you want to make more money, name the specific amount.  Whether it’s x amount of dollars after so many days or how much you want your yearly income to be, be specific.

Dream your dreams.  See yourself in places that you never thought you could be.  If you want to speak on stage, see yourself speaking on stage in front of thousands of people.  Imagine what you’ll be wearing, what the stage will look like, what time of day you’ll be speaking and so on.

Your vision vacuum will start to pull you along.  You’ll start doing things that will move you in the direction of that vision.  Things in your life will start to change.  You may not have the same friends anymore.  You probably won’t have the same job for very long because, let’s face it, most jobs won’t fund any sort of dreams at all, outside of maybe an extra milkshake on Fridays.

When you create your vision, you’ll make the necessary changes in your life to move toward that vision.  But you must keep your vision in front of you at all times.  Write it down.  Get pictures of places you want to go and see.  Get pictures of your dream house and car.

When you start this journey, you’re well on your way to living your dream life.

Now, you may be asking how you can fund this dream life.  Here’s my best answer for that question.

I’ve been thinking a lot over the last few days about how I can lower my stress levels and still be productive in my business.  I’m sure that I’m not the only one that seems a little overwhelmed sometimes and pretty stressed out when it comes to my online business.

And it’s easy to feel that way, what with all the marketing talk, the new methods to generate leads, learning how to do keyword research, how to write great articles, creating capture pages, learning how to create sales funnels, blogging, tweeting, Facebooking, status updating….

Do you understand what I’m trying to tell you here?  There can be a lot going on in your business, especially when you’re just getting started and you can get really stressed out!

I’ve struggled with this for a long time and have finally come to terms with it just in the last few days.  I figured out that the vast majority of my stress has been created by my own thoughts and actions that have made me worry about too many things that really aren’t all that important.

See, when you get as stressed out as I have been, you become completely unproductive.  Your mind is racing in so many different directions that you can’t focus on any one thing and you wind up not getting anything done.  You just sit at your computer trying to figure out what the next best step is to take when you haven’t taken the first step at all.

You’re so stressed out that you end up just staring at a computer screen for hours on end and then you wonder why your business isn’t growing.  You think to yourself, “I spent 5 hours on the computer yesterday and I didn’t get a single lead from any of my sites.  What am I doing wrong?”  And then you sit, staring at your computer for another 5 hours.

This process just continues to get worse and worse until you just quit doing anything, even staring at your computer.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to just unplug my desktop and throw everything out the window and just quit because I was so stressed out and felt like I was never going to get anything done.

And I know that you’ve probably felt the same way.  You may even be feeling that very same way right now.

I’ve got good news for you, my friend.  It doesn’t have to be that way.  Let me tell you a little bit about my day: I had a full day of business and that ended up taking longer than I expected.  Then I had to go out and get brakes put on my car (thanks to my father-in-law for the use of his garage!).  I ended up not getting home until close to 9:30 tonight and had done a fat lot of nothing to grow my business today.

But I wasn’t worried.  I came in and sat down at my computer and banged out this blog post.  I’ll spend a few minutes after I hit the publish button syndicating it and creating some backlinks to it.

Then I’m going to go to bed.  And I was able to do that because I’ve been able to lower my stress level in my business.  I have a clear focus on exactly what steps I need to take on a daily basis to make my business grow.  I don’t get distracted by the latest product launch or marketing method that someone has out.  Those are all great and wonderful, but they have little to do with my “mission critical” tasks.

I’ve become laser-focused on my goals and what I need to do to get there.  And my stress is lower now than ever.

I know that soon my bank account will be bigger than ever as a direct result.  Yours can be, too.

Get laser-focused on your goals and forget about everything else.  You’ll lower your stress and make more money.

And that’s really what this is all about.

As an internet network marketer, I’m sure you’ve heard all about attraction marketing at this point and how once you’ve started using it, you’ll never have to do “old school” MLM recruiting ever again and people will just be beating down your door to join your business and send you money.

I call shenanigans and hogwash.

When people first started talking about attraction marketing a few years ago, this was probably true. But, like every other tactic that’s ever been used online, after awhile, things don’t work as well as they used to.

The same goes for attraction marketing. if you really believe at this point that if you never pick up the phone and actually CALL your prospects that you’ll still be able to build a business using the Internet, you’re dreaming.

The chances that someone is going to join your business without first talking to you are slim to none. I’m not saying that it’s never going to happen, but I am saying that it’s not going to happen very much.

So, what do you do? You can still use the Internet to generate leads, but you’ve got to pick up the phone and actually call your prospects if you want them to take action.

Here’s 5 reasons why network marketers have to pick up the phone or get out of the business. I hope they help you focus and get moving in your business.

Reason #1 – Everyone can make a phone call

If you want to grow a big business, you’ve got to get your team to duplicate. Not everyone can blog, tweet, Facebook and all that other online jazz. But EVERYONE knows how to use a phone.

Reason #2 – You will build your confidence

If you can talk to people on the phone about your business, you’re one step closer to getting over your fears of talking to people in person about your business. Start dialing.

Reason #3 – You’re ready to do 3-way calls

Remember, if you’ve got a good team you’re not out there alone making calls. You should have some upline leadership ready to get on a call with you if your prospect has questions. Take advantage of that leverage. But you can only do that if you’re picking up the phone and dialing.

Reason #4 – You’ll move through more leads

Phone calls a great for sorting and sifting. You’ll know pretty much immediately if the person you’re talking to is worth your time or not.

Reason #5 – People want to get to know YOU

Remember, this is “network” marketing. You have to network with people if you want them to join your business.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be using the Internet to build your business. What I’m saying is that you have to make contact with people if you want to recruit and build your business. Most people will NOT have the time nor the inclination to try and learn how to market on the Internet, they’d rather build their business offline and you need to be ready to help them.
