Network Marketing & Blogging – 5 Simple Steps to Building a Massive List of Buyers and Partners

If you’re a network marketer and you’re looking to build an incredible group of responsive people on your email list, there’s no better way to do it than with blogging.  Blogging gives you not only a home on the web, but a platform that you can speak from and provide value to your community in a way that you just couldn’t do in the past.

But what if you’re having a hard time building the type of list you want to from your blog?  Are you taking names but not getting any response?

Here’s 5 simple steps you can take to make sure you’re building exactly the kind of list you want to with your network marketing blog.

Step #1 – Provide valuable content. Just because you have a blog doesn’t mean that you get to write about just anything.  You’ve got to provide valuable content that targets the kind of people you want to get on your list.  You have the opportunity with your blog to speak to people and convince them that you have something that they need.  With great, powerful and actionable content, you’ll do exactly that.

Step #2 – Use a call-to-action. People are looking for a leader.  They want to be told where to go, what to do.  You’ve got to do that with your blog and the content that you provide.  Don’t just write a powerful blog post that reveals the ultimate secrets of the universe only to leave people hanging at the end, wondering how they can learn more from you.  Tell them where they can find out more, give them a link, give them direction.  Get them to take action.

Step #3 – Direct them to a sign-up page. In that call-to-action I discussed earlier, you’ll want to send them to a page where they can sign up for your newsletter. Make sure the sign-up page is clear and concise, and don’t give them an option to do anything else other than sign up for your newsletter!

Step #4 – Welcome them to your neighborhood.  Once you’ve got someone on your email list, make them feel at home.  Your email list should have an autoresponder, so use it.  Send them a message immediately and start building a relationship with them.  Don’t try to sell them something right off the bat, you’ll only leave a bad taste in their mouth.  Give them some links to some of your best content, an article, a video, or, even better, give them something for free that you didn’t tell them about before.  They be sure to pay attention to what you say from now on.

Step #5 – Stay in contact. These people signed up for you list for a reason.  They want to hear more of what you have to say.  Stay in contact with them on a regular basis.  Let them know when you’ve written a new blog post, recorded some audio or a video, or have another gift you’d like to give them.  Don’t just pitch them one thing after another.  Build a relationship with people and you’ll soon see great success with your network marketing business.

How to Get More Backlinks to Your Website

how to get more backlinks to your websiteI’m sure you’re aware by now that one of the ways that you can increase your own website’s authority in the search engines (giving you better placement in the search engine results and more traffic!) is to get more backlinks from other websites.

And not just any backlinks will do.  You want to get links from other top “authority” websites.  If you start doing this, you’re going to get some of their authority passed on down to you.

And the higher the authority, the better it is for your website.

See, it’s all fine and good to get a ton of links from other, low authority websites.  Any link that you can get is better than no links at all.

But, not all links are equal.

You may have heard about a little thing called “PageRank” that is used by Google.  Now, I’m not going to sit here and pretend to know how PageRank is determined, only the Google gods know that.

What I do know is this: the higher your PageRank, the better your rankings in the search engine results.

And better search rankings means more free traffic for you.  And we all know the best kind of traffic is the free kind. :)

So, how do you get a higher PageRank?  One of the best ways is to get links from other “authority” sites that have their own high PageRank.

See, the PageRank love will pass down from their site to yours if you just get some links.

And if Google thinks a site is important enough, you’ll get some serious link juice coming to your site.

And what are some of the most important sites online?

Easy, .gov and .edu domains.  Google seems to place more emphasis on these sites, since most of them are either government or higher education based sites.

And those people are pretty important, aren’t they?

Yes they are!

And you can get backlinks from those sites to yours, and it’s a lot easier than you probably think it is.

What if the government would send traffic or at least TONS of link juice to your websites.

They will, but you have to know where to look and what to ask.  My buddy Ryan Deiss has just released a new PDF in which he reveals one of his biggest secrets to getting more free traffic to his sites.   It’s all about finding authority sites that you can get backlinks from. Here is a list of the “Authority Codes”.

.EDU and .GOV links on super popular and respected sites are usually
seen as IMPOSSIBLE to get until now –

With the Authority Codes it’s easy and the codes are FREE so don’t
wait a second. Do it now…

Just one of these powerful links could move your site on Google, Yahoo
or Bing by as much as 100 positions OVERNIGHT!

What is “The Challenge?”

OK, for those of you that do not hang out in the cluttered halls of my computer and/or office, you may not have heard of “The Challenge.”

And some of you may have heard of it, but under another name.  Up until this year, “The Challenge” was known as the 30 Day Challenge, or 30DC.  The 30DC was a free training program that showed anyone (and I mean anyone) how they could get started online and earn their first dollar by the end of the challenge.

Trouble was, it was only 30 days long.  And was chock full of information.  All really good, very valuable info, but just a metric ton of it.  Crammed down your throat in 30 days.

You ever had one of those winter semester courses in college?  You know, the ones that you take while everyone else has gone home for Christmas over like 2-3 weeks?

Imagine taking Calculus IV in one of those courses and you’ll have some sense of what the 30DC was like.

So, for this year, things have changed, and they have changed for the better.

Gone is the 3o days and we’re just left with “The Challenge.” The format is now 90 days long, with a 7 days on/7 days off format.  This makes it much easier for people to participate that are still working “real” jobs and gives you plenty of time to go back over lessons if you need to.  And, each lesson is only 30 minutes long, so you’re not completely going to lose your life during that 90 days. :)

So, now that you know what The Challenge is, why don’t you join us?  It is, and always has been, completely 100% free of charge to participate in the challenge.  You can find out more about it by going to http://www.challenge.co

Why am I doing The Challenge?

Simple.  Yes, I do know a thing or two about running a business online, but there’s always more to learn.  And what better way to learn than from some of the best in the business?  I can’t think of one!

Also, this year I plan on doing a lot more “giving back” to others and help them as much as I can during this process.  So, you’ll see me blogging here quite a bit on what we’re talking about during The Challenge and how you can learn as well.

I’m also heading up a small, semi-local group based in Kentucky that will be helping each other out as we move along through The Challenge.  If you’re interested in joining the group, hit me up on Twitter or Facebook and I’ll get you the info.

We’re in Pre-Challenge stage right now, Lesson 1 doesn’t officially hit until July 13th, so there’s still time to join in before we officially kick off!

Join us at The Challenge!

Mike Paul

Sunday Morning Inspiration – Starting Your Own Movement

Watch this short video about how everyone, even YOU, can start your own movement.  YOU have the power within you to make a change, to make a difference, and to leave your mark on this world during the short time that we are all given.

My favorite quote from Derek during this video is. “The first follower is what transforms a lone nut into a leader.”

Anybody else ready to be a lone nut?

Can You Pitch Your Business in 15 Seconds or Less?

What do you do?

I’m sure that all of us have heard that question at least one time before in our business lives.  And for entrepreneurs, internet-based or not, it can be kind of a difficult question to answer.

Because we’re involved in so many things, you’re probably like me and have a really hard time coming up with a short description that accurately tells people what in the world it is that we really do.

Now, I’m sure you could just answer with a quick, “I sit at a computer all day and have a blast and get paid to do it,” or something like that.  But how serious do you think people will really take you with that kind of answer.

Just because we have the convenience of working from home doesn’t mean that we don’t still run a business and we really should be able to describe what we do in our business in 15 seconds or less to anyone that asks us.

Who knows?  If you’ve got a really great answer, you just might get someone else to join your business or find out how they can start their own.

That way they can sit in front of a computer all day and get paid to do it, too.

So, what’s your elevator pitch?  What do you really do with your time to make cash?  I’d love to hear your comments below.
