You probably know by now that writing articles and posting them at major article directories and at your own blog can be a huge source of traffic for your network marketing website. But, how to you get traffic to your articles? If no one sees them, are they really doing you any good?

The answer to that question is a simple “no.” No matter how many articles you write, if no one ever sees them, they won’t bring you any traffic.

So, how do you get more traffic to your articles? Is it really just a lucky break that may get you more traffic, or can you do some things that will get your articles seen by more people and use that traffic to start growing your network marketing company?

Absolutely, and here’s 7 Steps that you can use right now, even if you’re just getting started with article marketing in your network marketing internet business.

Step #1 – Use targeted keywords in your article title. If content is king on the internet, then keywords are the queen. Keywords are what everyone uses to find content on the internet. If you’re targeting the right keywords in your article titles, you’ll have a much better chance of getting traffic from the search engines. Do your keyword research and use those keywords in your article titles.

Step #2 – Submit your articles to the best directories. Now, there’s probably thousands and thousands of places that you can submit your articles to online. But only a few of them really matter, the rest are really just junk. Submit your articles to the best directories, those that are reputable, have been around for years, and receive a good deal of traffic. These sites rank well in the search engines and will help send some of that traffic your way. Ezine Articles is probably the best article directory online, a great place to submit your network marketing articles.

Step #3 – Post your articles on your blog. You do have a blog, don’t you? If you don’t, you really should have a blog for your network marketing internet business. It’s the hub of all your activity online. And those articles that you’ve created can also be posted at your blog. You wrote them, didn’t you? So use them!

Step #4 – Tweet your articles. Each and every article you post online has it’s own unique web address that you can send people to. Get the link for your articles and start telling people about them on Twitter. If you’re building your Twitter following, and you should be, you’ll get some traffic from there as well. Don’t be afraid to tell people about your work, they’ll thank you for it!

Step #5 – Mention your articles on Facebook. Facebook is one of the busiest sites online, with now over 500 million users. Surely, there have to be a few of them that would be interested in what you have to say about network marketing, don’t you think? You’ll never know unless you tell them about it!

Step #6 – Repurpose your articles. An article is more than just an article, it’s a piece of content you can use over and over again. Use your article as a video script, or for a podcast. Post the video on YouTube and add the podcast to your blog. The more places you have your content, the more that people will see it.

Step #7 – Write more articles. This is just simple. The more articles you write, the more traffic you’re going to get. If you write enough articles, you’re soon going to be recognized as a network marketing internet business leader and people will start looking for your content. And if you’re doing these 7 steps, they’ll be sure to find it. And you’ll start getting more leads to your business, and more money!

Using these 7 steps on a regular basis will absolutely bring you more article traffic, which will bring you many more leads that really want to hear what you have to say.

Come to think of it, when’s the last time you saw a line of people for much of anything?

You’ve heard of the iPod, right?  And maybe you’ve heard about something called iTunes.  Both of the aforementioned items belong to a certain company called Apple.

You’ve heard of them, right?  If not, you might want to check them out here on Monday night and see what they’re all about. They’ve also made something called an iPhone and an iPad.  Silly sounding I know, but you need to take note of what they do.

And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, by the end of this post, you will.

See, there’s something you need to know about Apple.  They sell a lot of stuff.  A LOT of stuff.  And whether or not you like the stuff they sell or not is really not all that important.  They’re going to sell it anyway, like it or not.

And they’re going to keep right on selling it, day after day, night after night.

So, why is this important to you?  Why should you pay attention to everything Apple does and sells?

Because they have created the greatest platform for content distribution known to man.  They have created devices that allow anyone, and I mean ANYONE, to get their content in front of literally millions of people, right in the palm of their hand.

Imagine this, you create a piece of audio or video content.  You get that content into the iTunes store (which is not very hard to do, trust me, I’ve done it many times) and now you’re in.

Your content now has the chance to be in the hands of multiple millions of people, all over the world.  Your content with your message, your teaching, your presentation – and it’s sitting in the palm of someone’s hand.

Think of that power. Think of how much it can mean to your business.  All you have to do is be willing to create the content to put on all those wonderful little devices from Apple.  And the beauty is that there’s about a bazillion more devices that your content can show up on.

So, what are you waiting for?  Why haven’t you started podcasting?

Whether it’s audio or video podcasting, what are you waiting for?  The tools are out there and they’re easier to use than ever.

Are you scared?  Good.  That just means that you care and you want to produce the best content you can.

Do you think you’re not good enough?  You’re wrong.  You’re plenty good enough.

Do you think that you’ll sound silly?  You’re exactly right.  The first time you record something, you’ll sound ridiculous.  Get over it and keep recording.  It’ll come.  I promise.

Here’s my challenge to you for this week.  I want you to come up with your biggest questions about podcasting (audio or video) and write them down.

Then, I want you to bring them with you on Sunday night, June 13th, 8PM Eastern time.

I’m going to be streaming LIVE answering your questions about podcasting and hopefully motivating you to start doing it yourself.

What do you do?

I’m sure that all of us have heard that question at least one time before in our business lives.  And for entrepreneurs, internet-based or not, it can be kind of a difficult question to answer.

Because we’re involved in so many things, you’re probably like me and have a really hard time coming up with a short description that accurately tells people what in the world it is that we really do.

Now, I’m sure you could just answer with a quick, “I sit at a computer all day and have a blast and get paid to do it,” or something like that.  But how serious do you think people will really take you with that kind of answer.

Just because we have the convenience of working from home doesn’t mean that we don’t still run a business and we really should be able to describe what we do in our business in 15 seconds or less to anyone that asks us.

Who knows?  If you’ve got a really great answer, you just might get someone else to join your business or find out how they can start their own.

That way they can sit in front of a computer all day and get paid to do it, too.

No matter if you’re in network marketing or not, if you want to be successful in your life, you’ve got to establish goals.  Without goals, you have no direction.  Goals define what you are working towards.  Another way to think about your goals is to think about the “vision” for your business.

And if you’re familiar with Scripture, you’ll know that somewhere in that great book of wisdom is the following passage:

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

Or, to put it in my simple Kentucky terms, if you ain’t got a vision for your business, your business is dead.

Dead. Done. Finished.

You’ve got to set your goals and keep them in front of you.  But how do you do that?  What’s the best way to keep those goals in front of you all the time?  How do you keep driving for them?

Here’s 5 steps you can take starting today to help you start achieving your goals in your network marketing business.

Step #1 – Write down your goals. This should be really obvious to most of us at thing point, but we sure don’t act like it.  And I’m just as guilty as anyone else is.  Write down what you want to happen in your business.  Be specific, don’t use vague projections and generalizations.  If you want to make $10,000 a month in your business, write it down.

Writing your goals down is extremely powerful and gives them “substance” and gets them out of your head and in the “real world.”

Step #2 – Read your goals, outloud, daily. Yep, you read that right.  I said to READ your goals EVERY day, OUTLOUD.  Right now I know you’re saying, “That’s crazy.  People will think I’m a lunatic.” Let them think whatever they want.  When they see you still sitting at Starbucks every morning enjoying your latte while they have to rush off to their J-O-B, they won’t think you were so crazy.

Get fanatical about saying your goals outloud.  They’ll start to get into your head and you’ll figure out more ways every day to push towards them.

Step #3 – Make 2 sets of goals, short-term and long-term. Look, I know that we’d all like to make six figures a month in our businesses starting tomorrow.  But the chances of that happening are not that great.  But, why can’t that be a long-term goal for you?

Make a set of short-term and long-term goals for your business. However, all of your short-term goals should be building up to help fulfill your long-term goals.  Use them as a stepping stone to bigger things.

Step #4 – Find an accountability partner. It’s all fine and good that you write your goals down and keep them in front of your face.  But if you’re the only one holding yourself accountable, the chances of failure are much higher.

Get a partner.  Join a mastermind.  Or, and I know this sounds crazy, talk with your spouse.  Revolutionary, I know, but your spouse or significant other should be your biggest supporter.  Talk with them and get them involved in your goals.  You’d be surprised what awesome motivation that can be for you.

Step #5 – Measure your progress. When you first set your goals, there may be things that come along that you don’t plan for.  And just because you’re working toward your goals as hard as you possibly can that you’re going to achieve all of them in the exact time you originally put down.

Remember, these are goals you’re pushing towards.  No basketball player makes the shot 100% of the time.  No hitter bats a thousand.  But they never stop and they always evaluate where they are with their skills.

The same goes for your business.  You’ve got to sit down every now and then and take stock of where you are.  Review your goals.  Some of them will have been accomplished very easily.  Some of them were completely off and need to be changed.

But if you have to change them, don’t despair.  You’re still working, you’re still pushing, and you will see them completed.

You alone control your destiny and the goals that you strive for. Keep them in your focus at all times and your dreams will be yours.

Let’s have a heart to heart chat today, shall we? If you’re reading this blog, I’m fairly confident that you are involved in or are thinking about being involved in network marketing, internet marketing, or another home-based business.  If you’re here looking for basket weaving tips, apparently I’m not doing my job

So, being the motivated individual you are, you’re probably a Type A personality.  You know, always craving the center of attention.  Standing out in a crowd.  Incredible work ethic.

And, you’re a perfectionist.

Whether you want to admit it or not, you’re a perfectionist.  Every one of us is, deep down inside.  It’s part of what makes us strive to be better.  We know that we’re not perfect, but we want to get there.

The downside to this is that sometimes our perfectionism can hold us back from being truly successful.  We’re so concerned about getting everything “just right” that we end up not doing anything at all.

Let’s take, for instance, your blog.  You’ve been thinking about starting one.  You’ve read other blogs that talk about blogging.  You’ve probably bought a few guides on blogging.

You hang out at places like ProBlogger, Copyblogger, DailyBlogTips, and others, just hoping to learn that one more tip that’s going to make your blog the best there is. A perfect blog.

Then you realize something.  You ain’t got a blog.  You ain’t got nothing. (My inner Kentuckian is coming out again…)

All you have is an idea and this big monkey named “Perfection” hanging onto your back.  And your business isn’t growing.

Your frustrations are growing.  Your disgust with your current situation is growing.  Your anxiety is growing.  But your business, it’s not going anywhere.

Why? Perfection.  You’re so obsessed with getting everything “just right” that you’re not getting anything done.

I was there once, for a very long time.  I wanted to get all my words just right.  I wanted to find the right content to blog about, the right topics.  I wanted my videos to be perfect, my podcasts, too.

And I was stuck.  Stuck in mud up to my neck.  No growth, no productivity.

Then, one day, I decided to stop trying to be perfect.  I decided to just start doing something.  That day, things started to change.  I started getting more traffic to my blog.  My Alexa rank went up (over 1.3 million positions in 30 days).

I started adding people to my list.  And my business started growing.

It’s amazing what can happen when you stop trying to be perfect and you just pursue perfection.  Pursuing is an act.  It requires movement.  You can’t pursue something if you’re standing still.

And you can’t make any money if you’re not blogging. So…

Get started.  Write your first post.  Pretty soon, they’ll start rolling out like second nature.  And perfection will just be a goal, not a state of being for your.

There’s been a bit of talk going on this week about leadership and being a leader in network marketing. I’m sure we’d all agree that a leader is someone that stands out from the crowd, even when they don’t really mean to.

True leaders can be picked out from a room full of people. Have you ever had someone walk up to you and say, “Hey, I’ve got a question and you look like the person in charge, so I’ll ask you.”

If you’re a leader, you’ve probably experienced this, even in the most random places.  Leaders have an air about them.  Leaders attract other people, they will come seeking you out.

So, how can you become a leader in network marketing?  I’m assuming you’re wondering how to do that since you’re still reading this post

The easiest way to be seen as a leader is to stand out from the crowd.  Now, by standing out, I don’t mean that you should look like a fool and draw that kind of attention to yourself.  You’re still leading, but you’re leading the wrong way.

Here’s 5 ways you can easily start to stand out from the crowd and start becoming a leader to others.

Way #1 – Start Blogging

Unless you’ve been asleep for the last 6 years, you know that every leader that has an online presence has a blog.  And that’s not just reserved to the network marketing arena.  It’s everywhere.  Your blog is your “nerve center” and the platform that you stand on and shout to the masses.  Get started blogging today if you haven’t already.

Way #2 – Start Creating Videos

I still can’t believe there aren’t more people doing online video.  The tools that are available now are so cheap and so easy to use, anyone can do it.  ANYONE. Start creating some quality videos that provide value to others and you get +5 leadership points. Learn how to market your videos well and you get a +2 melee bonus and the coveted Iron Chainmail Shirt of Money Making added to your collection.

Way #3 – Be everywhere

Want to really start to lead in the network marketing niche?  Be everywhere in that niche.  Find every popular blog.  Subscribe to it.  Add comments, tweet posts, share on Facebook.  Get on the forums and add your thoughts.  Not spam, but thoughts.  I thought we’d all have been tired of spam by now, but most of us don’t seem to be.  Understand the tools that are out there that will allow you to be in many places at one time without having to do a bunch of extra work.  Then, get out there.

Way #4 – Point the way

Use your network of content to point people where you want them to go.  People want to be lead.  They crave to be lead.  They want someone to tell them what to do next.  Be that person, show them the way.  They will follow.

Way #5 – Take Massive Action

It’s fine to start a blog.  It’s good that you’re creating videos.  Great step if you’re starting to show up everywhere in your market and that you’re pointing the way that people should go.  But you’ve got to take action.  Massive action if you want to see real results.  Don’t post one time to your blog, post often.  Don’t leave one comment on one blog, comment on many.  Don’t put your video in one place, upload it to every stinkin’ video site you can find.

Massive action brings massive results and brings you into that leadership position much, much faster.
