I’m hoping by now that you’re aware that in this day and age you’ve got to have a blog if you’re going to be doing any marketing online.  A blog gives you a place to brand yourself and to develop a following online.  Plus, if you’re using it correctly, you can use your blog to help automate your lead generation process.

If you’re blogging on a regular basis, you should be inviting people to join your email list or presenting them some sort of funded proposal on your blog.  But have you thought about putting one of these options at the end of your blog posts?

And you don’t have to type out a special message each time you write a blog post.  One of the beauty of most blogging platforms is that every post is created from a template.  You can put pretty much whatever you want to in the template and have it automatically appear each time you post something.

Let’s say you want to include an email opt-in form at the end of each one of your blog posts.  Write up a simple lead in and offer to join your list.  You’ll then use the code given to you by your email autoresponder service and place that in the template as well.

Once you’ve got this ready to go, you can then insert this information into your blog post template and you’ll be good to go.  I know that some of you are probably freaking out about the prospect of having to mess with code and your blog template, but you can get someone to add this for you easily enough at a site like Elance or Guru.com.

Get your information up in your template and the next time you add a new blog post – BOOM!  Your email opt-in form will automatically be inserted at the end of your blog post. Now, with each new blog post that you add, you’re automatically creating a point of entry to your email list.  You’ve just made your life a lot easier by automating part of the lead generation process.

Keep finding little things to do that can make your work easier and automate your processes.  The more you can do this, the more leads you’ll generate and the more reps you’ll sponsor into your business.

You can use this technique for anything you like.  And, once things are set up, you can change the wording or the offer that you are presenting to people.
