How to Come Up With Cool Content for Your Blog

Tags: , ,

There are a few questions that I see people ask over and over again when it comes to blogging and I see a lot of the same answers. People always seem to be asking how to get more traffic, how to make money, and how do I get ideas for stuff to write about on my blog. If you’ve asked one of those questions before, raise your hand! :)

I know there’s a few of you reading this that are raising your hands pretty high. I’d like to answer one of those questions for you today, with hopefully a different answer that will really help you out and add some value to your business.

I’m going to tell you a little bit about how you can come up with more content for your blog on a regular basis. A VERY regular basis. As a matter of fact, if you’ll do what I’m about to tell you, you’ll be able to come up with something to write about EVERY DAY for the next year!

Crazy, you say? Ludicrous, you cry? Never fear, true believer, I’ve got just the thing that is going to help you take your blog writing content to the next level and get you more business than you ever thought possible. It’s a simple process to follow, but one that the vast majority of people will never stick with and that’s why they’re not having any success. But I know you’re not like that. You’re going to read everything in this post and then you’re going to take some action on it, right? RIGHT!

So here we go…

Step #1 – Set Your Blog Up. I’m assuming that if you’re reading this, you either have a blog or you want to start one. Great! If you haven’t got a blog up and running yet, you basically have two choices. One: start your own blog on your own hosting account. There’s a lot of benefits to this, mostly in that your blog is something you own completely. You control all the content, everything that happens is yours. Don’t underestimate that power of owning your own blog. I host all my blogs (yes, I have multiple blogs in multiple niches!) on Hostgator and have always been well pleased with them. You can get your own blog started today with Hostgator for only a penny if you’d like, just use coupon code MYBRANDNEWBLOG when you visit Hostgator right here. I won’t go into the details of getting set up with Hostgator here, but I will in the future. That’s your first option for setting up your blog.

The second option is to join the Empower Network and use their supercharged blogging platform that is already set up for you. Now, for those of you that don’t like technology and don’t want to mess with stuff and just want it to work, this is your best option. When you join the Empower Network for only $25/month, you get a supercharged blogging platform that is ready for you to just start blogging. Pretty cool, ain’t it? Free yourself from the worries of tech issues and traffic problems. Just blog. Join up now if you haven’t already.

Step #2 – Use a Blogging Calendar. I know you’ve heard before the old saying that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. This holds true for blogging, as well. I know right now you have all this jazzed up emotion and you’re ready to dive in and start blogging and you tell yourself that you’ll be able to blog every day with no problem.

I promise you, nothing could be further from the truth. You’ll be hot and heavy for the first few days, then you’ll fall off. You’ll drop back to blogging once a week, then once a month, then never. Unless, of course, you have a plan in place to create content on a regular basis. That’s where your blogging calendar will come in and be your life saver. And, since you’re such a cool person and you’re reading this entire post, I’ll tell you where you can pick up such a calendar for a really low price. So low, in fact, that it’s FREE!

Yes, each year, Lynette Chandler publishes a Blogging Calendar that gives you both ideas and a place to plan out your blogging for the next year. It’s pretty much the coolest thing ever and I really think every serious blogger should be using it, but that’s just me. All the cool kids are using it, so you probably should, too…

You can pick up your copy of the 2012 Blogging Calendar right here.

Step #3 – Take action. This is, of course, the most important step in this process of creating content for you blog. You can have a really cool personal blog or blog on the Empower Network and you can even have a cool blogging calendar, but if you don’t do anything with it, it doesn’t matter at all. You’ve got to decide that you’re going to take action and see this online business thing through to the end.

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get started today!
