One of the absolute best ways that you can start adding more leads to your business is by using what’s called a lead capture page. Now, you may have heard many different terms as you’ve been surfing around the internet, but they all are basically the same thing. Squeeze page, forced opt-in, landing page, all refer to the same thing.
A lead capture page is simply a single page on the internet that you are sending traffic to that allows you to capture a name and email address (and for our purposes a phone number as well) and add that person to your email autoresponder.
Why in the world would you want to do this? Isn’t it just easier to send someone directly to a page to sign up for your business? Or to buy an affiliate product? Why would you want to go through the extra step of sending them to a lead capture page?
Simple. If you are able to collect some basic information about someone, they become more than just a potential one-time buyer. They become an asset to your business.
I can promise you that when most people are presented your business opportunity that they will not join on the first exposure. If you don’t have their contact information, they’re gone forever. It’s unlikely that they’ll ever happen by your page again. The same goes if you’re promoting an affiliate offer. If you don’t capture their information at some point in the process, you’ll never hear from them again.
However, if you are using a lead capture page, now you are able to market to that person over and over again. Now, let’s not get spammy here. You don’t want to promote something to people on your list 37 times a day, that’s just obnoxious! Talk to your list once per day.
You also don’t need to be constantly promoting to your list, you need to provide value the vast majority of the time. You’re trying to build a relationship with them so that they’ll learn to like and trust you, before they buy.

Providing Value on Your Lead Capture Page
Another thing you have to consider with a lead capture page is that on that page you need to be providing something of value to people that will cause them to fill out that little form. You didn’t think they were just going to give you their name, email and phone number just because you asked them to, did you? Not likely. 
On your lead capture page, you need to “give away” something of value that will solve a problem that your visitor is having. You may have heard this referred to as an “ethical bribe”. You are providing something of value that your visitor is looking for. Of course, you need to make sure that what you are providing is actually high quality. If you’re giving away crap, people aren’t going to stay on your list or listen to anything you have to say in the future.
If you’re providing amazing content when people sign up, they are much more likely to open that next email from you and possibly buy something or join your business at some point down the line.
Setting Up Your Lead Capture Page
Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that it’s all well and good that I’m telling you to use a lead capture page, but how in the world do I get one set up?
Back in the old days of the interwebs (like 5 years ago!), you probably would have either had to create a page yourself, or pay someone to do it. You can still do either one of these things, but let me encourage you NOT to do so. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my time online it’s that my job is not to do the technical stuff.
